On a recent trip to LA I had the chance to visit The RealReal's new LA fine jewelry office and write a feature on RealStyle. It was designed by The Row's interior designer Courtney Applebaum and it's probably the chicest gemology space you'll ever see. It's filled with antique rugs and vintage 20th century furniture (fueling an obsession with Jean Prouvé, Jean Royere + Bruno Mathsson) set against spare concrete floors, and I pretty much wanted to move in. More pics and the full post including an interview with Courtney here.
I love my classic Albano Waite, but this new tarot deck from The Dreslyn has a clean, modern look that I'd love to add to my collection.
I'm normally not much one for diamonds, but paired with organic beachstones, these are pretty cool (and they have a great Insta).
I've been looking for the perfect crossbody bag and I'm thinking this one is a contender.
Looking for an album to put on repeat? This has been mine lately.
When it comes to makeup, I usually go for ultra-bright colors for lips and classic black for eyeliner and mascara. But on a whim, I opted for this brown eyeliner from natural makeup line Alima. Excited to mix it up with a neutral (wild and crazy, I know).

On my holiday wish list this year: ridiculously fancy candles by Astier de Villate, specifically Rue St. Honoré, Oulan Bator and Namche Bazaar (their site is worth a visit for the design alone).
Serial is back. And because I love Tim so much, I'm waiting until we can drive around listening to it together as we did with season one, even though I spend hours in the car each week on my commute.
Maybe it's the holiday season, but I'm loving the idea of tuxedo details right now.
Inspired by this restaurant designer whose interiors are so sophisticated and whose methods are so DIY.
Super cozy winter recipe.
Majorly excited for this movie release. Pretty much planning xmas around it. Want a western hat with pom poms on it.
Different genre of pom poms, but love the exaggerated one on this cute winter hat.
Re-Styling: Round Two
Re-styling round two! So the interior styling class I took (taught by Justina Blakeney) is over, but I've kept working and rounding up pics to document the re-styling I did during the class. It's weird, on the one hand I feel like I didn't change much, but on the other I feel like things look a lot better and that it was a lot of work! I'm dead set on continuing throughout the rest of our house. Here's our old and improved coffee table, record console, and couch.
One of the things that struck me about a lot of the 'after' spaces was that there was more stuff than before and yet it always looked so much better. Like others whose 'before' pics were barren of stuff, I'd been assuming that less was more, but instead of looking artfully minimal a lot of the spaces just looked bare. More can be more, if it's the right combination put together in the right way.

I'm completely deluded about how much time I can spend reading. My stack of hoarded New Yorkers and fashion magazines stretched too far back to mention. It's so hard to admit you can't read everything! I'm hoping our more organized, less anxiety-inducing spaces keep me to a more edited collection, or that I find those 3 missing hours in the day.
Pants! He loves this linen throw — it's a lot comfier than the Swiss army blanket we were using. Also, I'm so glad we sprang for these kilim pillows as part of our wedding decor because I knew they would also look great on our couch. This was one area though where less did turn out to be more— too many pillows was no bueno.
Until the next room!

Spring Re-Styling

It's not totally different, and yet it's so much better. I don't think it's 100% there yet, but we're definitely way happier with this version of the office. What do you think? Up next: coffee table and sofa!
